This game has responsive gameplay and working sound and vibration.  There are some minor key mapping issues that are easy to work around.

Similar to the old Frogger game, the object of Why Chicken Why is to get your chickens across a busy four lane highway without getting run over.  The chickens are slow, the cars and trucks are fast and you only have a limited amount of time so this game is harder than it looks. Sound works, keys are mapped correctly (except the OK key, use the Call key) and the game works with all screen sizes.

The object of the game is to collect as many pearls as possible in each level. To advance to the next level you must also collect a certain number of the rare black pearls. Group 3 or more perals of the same color to collect them.

Unlike Bejeweled, pearls are moved by row rather than individually. You can only move a row by one position to the left or right and only if the move would create a row of 3 or more pearls of the same color.

Three play modes, over 100 levels, high score saving.  Adapts to all screen sizes. Game play is responsive even on basic phones. No sound.

As requested, here's a mobile version of Space Invaders, one of the first (1978) arcade video games. This isn't the best adaptation, but it's the only one of five that I tried that actually worked. The graphics are black and white, there's no sound and no bases to hide under. But it loads quickly, controls are respansive and the alien's bombs usually miss.

A simple but surprisingly addictive arcade style multi-level maze game. Move through all the maxes collecting the numbered green and white cards while avoiding the scowling monsters. No key mapping or performance issues. The game is designed for 128 px wide screens like the i776, i465 and i290 and doesn't fill the screen on the i9 and i856.

Another reader find. PocoLoco is a shoot 'em up game with very good graphics. It's not very challenging but a lot of fun.

You are Poco, an indestructible  Yosemite Sam like character with big pistols. The goal of the game seems to be to shoot at everything; bombs,crates and soldiers.

You have to register to play, which you do from within the game.  Registration requires an email address. You can use a bogus address and the will game still work but if you use a real address you get a link for 200 Keicho coins which can be used to buy powerups. GetJar says the game is ad-supported. I didn't see any adds but game start-up takes as long as most ad-supported games.

BoostApps reader Lise has been scouring GetJar looking games and apps that work on her i856. Mario55, also called Mario MIDP is one of her finds. It's an oldie but a goodie, a Super Mario Bros. clone from Hungarian development house AquaJava.  It has working sound, correctly mapped keys and very fast gameplay on my i776.

Arcade style scrolling platform game.  Collect all the jewels before the time runs out to advance to the next level.  Watch out for falling rocks.

Hints: Eating jellies gives more time. Touching energy barriers reduces your time. Destroy generators to remove barriers. Water bubbles put out fires. Anti-gravity activators and teleports help get unreachable diamonds.
