Welcome to BoostApps.com. This site lets you download free games and apps to Boost Mobile and other phones without the need for cables, loader programs or even a PC.
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about using this site
Q. How do I know if I have a Boost Mobile or Nextel iDEN phone or something else?
A. If your phone is a Motorola and has a model number starting with the letter "i" followed by 1 to 3 digits like i290, i335, i465, i856 and i9 it is an iDEN phone. Anything else is not an iDEN phone
Q. How do I use this site to send games and apps to my Boost Mobile iDEN or Nextel USA Motorola phone?
A. Visit BoostApps.com with your PC or phone browser. Find a game or app you want to try. Click the"Send to Phone" button under the apps description.
On the next page enter your 10 digit Boost/Nextel Phone Number. Just the 10 numbers starting with the area code. with no spaces, dashes or dots, just numbers and press the "Send to Phone" button. The next page will have detailed instructions for completing the installation on your phone.
Q. I have a Boost Incognito, Mirro, Rant, Bali, Juno, C290, W385, Seek, Rambler, Factor or KRZR or some other Boost phone that's not a iDen phone. Can I get the games and apps on BoostApps.com on my phone?
A. Those are Boost CDMA phones. Most of the games and apps here should work on them. Here's how to install them:
For those phones don't use the "Send to Phone" button to install apps. It won't work. Instead:
1) Visit boostapps.com with your phone's browser.
2) Find a game or app you want.
3) Click the "JAD" link below the app's description. The phone will download and install the app
Also visit m.getjar.com with your phone's browser for a much larger selection of games and apps, many of which work on non-iDEN phones.
Q. I have a Motorola i1 or Samsung Galaxy Prevail Android phone. Will the apps on BoostApps work on it?
A. No, but don't feel bad, there are many more and much better free apps in the Android Market on the phone. Tap the Market icon on the phone to get started downloading.
Q. I have a BlackBerry, can I use these games and apps
A. The apps on this site are intended for Boost's non-smartphones. A few might work on BlackBerrys but most won't. The best sources for BlackBerry apps are BlackBerry App World and this big list of free BlackBerry software.
Q. I sent an app to my iDEN phone but it never appeared under "New Purchases" in "Download Apps". What went wrong and how can I fix it.
A. The most likely cause is that you entered your phone number incorrectly. Try again and remember to enter the number with no dashes or spaces, just ten numbers starting with the area code. Do not put a "1" in front of the number.
If your Boost account is new, downloading will not until 3 days after activation.
Q. I got a "Java Error" while installing on my iDEN phone how can I fix this?
A. When this happens, find the new app in the Java Apps menu. It will have a generic looking icon with an X or downward pointing arrow on it. Select the app and press "OK". It will start installing again only this time it will list the steps of the install on the screen. Wait for it to fail and then take note of which which step it failed on:
If the error occurs during the "Loading Classes" or "Validating classes" part of the install it means that the app is not compatible with your phone and will never work. All apps on BoostApps have been tested on a Motorola i776. They generally work on all iDEN phones but some are not compatible with certain models.
If the error occurs during the "Allocating Flash" or "Writing Flash" install phase, it means you don't have enough free space on the phone. Delete one or more other apps or games and restart the install on the phone. To delete an app, select it in the menu, press the "Menu" key and choose "Deinstall".
Q. I have a Motorola i465 or i475 and the number keys don't work in games. Can this be fixed?
A. On the i465, do a long press on the Fn key to switch the keyboard to phone number pad mode. Then you can use the the number keys in games that use numbers as controls. You have to do this on the i465 for any game that uses the number keys. To switch back to QWERTY do another long press on Fn.
Q. I have a Motorola i465 and I can't type letters or symbols in the ID and password fields of some apps. What's the solution?
A. Some apps don't "see" the QWERTY keys and only recognize the number keys. Do a long press on the Fn key to switch the keyboard to phone number pad mode and then you can triple tap the number keys to enter letters and symbols as if you were using a non-QWERTY phone. For example to type a "C", press "2" three times.
Q. The game or app I want isn't on BoostApps. How can I get it?
A. If you can find the game or app on another site like Getjar or Mobilerated you can send it to your phone with the Universal App Loader. Instructions here. And if you do find a good game or a useful app that works well on your iDEN phone and is free to distribute (non-commercial, freeware or ad-supported), do your fellow BoostApps users a favor and post a link to it in the comments section of the Universal App Loader page or on the forum.
Q. How can I get free ringtones and wallpapers for my iDEN phone?
A. Most iDEN phones can not download ringtones or wallpapers from this or any other site.
But If your phone has bluetooth, you can send properly formatted ringtones and wallpapers to it from a PC or other phone using Bluetooth. Instructions here: How To: Use Any MP3 File As A Free Ringtone and How To: Install Wallpaper Using Bluetooth.
Also, one user reported that on an the i9 the was able to get ringtones by going to http://mytinyphone.com with Bolt or Opera Mini, picking a tone, clicking the option send it to the phone, choosing Boost as the carrier and the "send as a attachment" option which will send a text with the ringtone attached. When you get it, open it and press the "Options" key or the Menu button and choose "Save audio". To set it as a ringtone, open the main Menu, select "Multimedia", go to the song you want, press "Options" or "Menu" and select "Assign as ringer. I suspect this may also work with the i856 and maybe other phones with a memory card.
Q. Can I watch YouTube or other web videos on my iDEN phone.
You can't, video streaming is impossible on any iDEN phone, the network is too slow.
Q. Can I listen to Internet radio stations on my iDEN phone?
A. Audio streaming (Internet radio) might be possible but I haven't found an app for it that works reliably on iDEN phones. I've tested all the Internet radio apps I could find, more than a dozen, and iRadio is the only one that even partially worked. It sort of works on the i9, i856 and possibly other phones, but the audio skips and it keeps prompting for an unlock code that no one seems to have.
Q. My Boost phone doesn't have a music player, can I install one?
A. I've tried a number of MP3 player apps and none have worked. iDEN phones block 3rd party apps from accessing phone memory which probably means that an MP3 player is technically impossible on a phone without a SD card.
Even if it were possible you could only have a couple tracks on the phone which only has 6 MB of shared storage which is also used for apps, ringtones and wallpapers'
Q. I signed up to subscribe to BoostApps by email but now I don't want it anymore, how do I unsubscribe
A. Click the "Unsubscribe now" or "Manage your subscriptions" link at the bottom of any of the emails.
Q. How can I change the avatar on my comments?
A. Create an account at en.gravatar.com and upload your avatar there. Be sure to sign up at Gravatar with the same email address that you use here or it won't work.
Q. I have a question that wasn't answered here. How can I get help?
A. If your question is a general one about using the site please leave a comment with your question. If your question is about a specific app or game on BoostApps, leave it in a comment on that app's post.
IS THERE ANY PROBLEM WITH DOWNLOADING ALLOT OF GAMES IN TO YOUR PHONE?...JUST ASKING?
I don't have any problems downloading to my phone, why do you ask? And WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?
oh..sorry ..i forgot that the caps lock was on
How do you download games to the boostmobile samsung seek??
Please read the help section above about downloading to non-iDEN phones.
i have a samsung seek from boost and cant watch you tube is the some video player i could download from my phone for free?? Thanks
I don't know offhand of a Video Player that works on the Seek. There are bunch of them on getjar, perhaps one of them will work.

re Honey Location .
If you have a pc,go to http://www.apniapps.com and download zip file(it says version 3.1 but its really 2.1)
thank you again however i get a 500:web service problem any suggestions
I was getting Unhandled Exception with Honey Location once in a while. That would close the app. I found an older version that seemed to work better.
where do i find older verison
dennis , I have an i290 and an i856 i put honey location on both on the i856 all i have to do is open it and leave it in suspended files so it stays open however on thei290 i cant keep it open what am i doing wrong?.....help!!!
I have an incognito boost mobile phone can i download free games or what site offers free games for this phone?
Some of the games on this site will work on an Incognito. Also, look here: http://wapreview.com/index.php?id=200 for reviews and links to more free download sites. Don't expect every site and every app to work though. You have to go through a lot of broken ones to find the ones that work.
if my phone java memory low how do i free up space?
Close any suspended apps.
but what if there are no other apps that are suspended? when i use opera 4.2 sometimes my java memory gets low when loading big pages
I see that message sometimes in Opera Mini too. I just press the OK button and usually the page loads fine. If it doesn't, try shutting down Opera Mini, then turning off the phone and removing the battery for 30 seconds or so and restarting everything again.
So theres no way to clean it up. Oh well. BTW I use 2 phones with 1 sim,and this new version was and is now independent of the other phones Download Apps.
Interesting, at least some of the failed downloads I sent to my i855 over a year and a half ago still show up under New Purchases on my current i776.
Dennis, how is it that when I deleted Download Apps, then loaded a new one using Download App Utility, that all the old downloads appeared in the new version?
The lists of apps (new purchases, re-downloads, etc) are on the Sprint/Boost server not the phone. Even if you change phones the apps list (minus any paid apps) will still be there.
do u know any really good yahoo im clients?
There are seven Yahoo IM apps available here: http://boostapps.com/tag/yahoo/
I'm not much of an IM'er and I don't use Y!IM at all so I can't make a recommendation.
woops,I just reread your answer.I thought it said the opposite, nice call.
You wont believe this.
It was set to format for phone ... so I turned that off and it worked! Google didnt complain about the page, and Send to Phone was there. I guess this is normal in the field of fixology
Dennis,in mobile site mode, when I search for app in Boostapps.then click the link I get "google does not support the content of this page"or something, but displays the page anyway, but in a different format."Send to phone"is missing from the page
I see what's happening.
To keep Google from reformatting the page:
Go to bottom of the Google search results page.
Click settings and set "Format web pages for your phone" to "off"
I have a samsung sleek..went to m.geetjar.com and it says....phone cannot download..so Im confused because I thought this was the dite Iwas able to goto..please help cause I want free apps like I use to get on my clutch
There's some weird stuff going on with GetJar. Try using the URL http://sprint.getjar.com/ Other users have reported that it works on the Incognito so perhaps it will work with the Seek.
Then when I switch to Desktop mode its Ok,but to get back to Mobile mode I have to edit the Bookmark to "boostapps.com/?wpmp_switcher=mobile"for it to work.
i have a question. you know how the v300 has the same screen size as i856, my question is if i use another brand like a nokia phone that has the same screen size as my i856 are the games playable? maybe not because the key mapping are different on a nokia phone. i'm just wondering because nokia has great games for there phones
You can always try, some apps targeted at Nokia will work. However, Nokia's Java VM has some Nokia specific extensions. If an app uses any of those it will fail to install
its telling my boost number is incorrect but its not.all i want is to play solitary on my i 465.please help
Are you in the US? Send to phone only works with Boost USA, not Australia, etc.
If you're in the US be sure to enter your number staring with the area code as 10 digits with no spaces, dashes and no leading one.
If you are doing that and it's still not working let me know which of the several versions of Solitaire on this site that you are trying to load and I'll check it.
do you know any sites where i can get meboy roms? also do you know how to upload the roms?
MeBoy does not have the ability to load game ROMs from the phone's memory card. Custom MeBoy JAR files are created on a PC using the MeBoyBuilder application that you can download from the MeBoy author's site, arktos.se/meboy/
You can download Gameboy ROMs from dozens of sites. A couple are: http://www.pdroms.de/ http://www.doperoms.com/roms/Gameboy_And_Gbc.html To find more Google "Gameboy ROMs"
Note: I don't bother with MeBoy myself because it runs like molasses on my i776. If you have an i9, i856 or CDMA phone they should be OK.
i have a i856 so i should be fine. lol what is molasses? is they're a way to get the meboy 2.0 version? i cant find it on the site. ne help is appreciated.
Molasses is an extremely thick sugar syrup used in baking. It's so thick that you you have to hold the bottle upside down for a long time before it starts to pour, hence the expression "slow as molasses"
The 2.0 MeBoy builder is here: http://arktos.se/meboy/ver/latest/MeBoyBuilder.jar
The 1.6 builder is here: http://arktos.se/meboy/ver/v160/MeBoyBuilder.jar
Although they are jar files they only run on a PC, not on a phone
o coo lol. i got it to work thanks alot. do you know how to activate the sound? it says 2.0 is capable of running the games wtih sound but i didtn't see it on the site i even looked at the usage guide
Maybe the sound options are in the GameBoy game menus themselves rather than part of the MeBoy setup.
As I'm sure you know, sound doesn't work with most games of iDEN phones. The odds of it working with MeBoy are low.
yea i kno iden phones have that problem. i just wanted to make sure i didnt miss nething
Opera doesn't recommended Mini 5.1 for the i465 or any other Motorola phone. The processor is too slow and there is too little memory. It's never going to work well on your phone. Opera Mini 4.2 or 3.1 are a better fit for the i465. Both are very stable on my i776 and should be on the i465 which has the same processor and memory.
I don't use Bolt so I can't really give you any advice other than what was recommended by Jiesen who does use it:
* Set magnification to large or greater;
* Set image quality to low or none;
* Turn off the inline text input;
* Set the display mode to mobile.
how do you use the meboy builder? i cant figure it out
what does this mean Application Assignment Failed With Error Code: ERROR: Execution Failed: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://144.230.114.35/adp1/funws/resources/idenuploader?ptn. i got it using the iden content uploader
That happens if there are spaces in the zip filename.
can you see if you can make the universal app loader work with mobiles24.com?
how do i install something using the .jar file on my i856? Using the USB cable, because im outside USA (and "send to phone" just works in USA, right?)
Correct, Send to Phone only works with Boost and Nextel in the US. To install apps with a cable use the free Windows loader program iDenJAL. For instructions and links see How To: Load (Almost) Any Game or App On Boost and Nextel
I have a smsung seek thru boost & I tried sending a game to my phone but I cant find where to go download it. Please help.. I don't have a menu with games & apps???
The Seek is a Boost CDMA phone. You can't use the "Send to Phone" button to install apps on these phones. Some of the apps and games here will work. To install an app on Boost CDMA phones: Visit boostapps.com with your phone's browser. Find a game or app you want. Click the "JAD" link below the app's description. Also visit m.getjar.com with your phone. Also if you visit http://m.getjar.com with your phone's browser you willsee a much larger selection of games and apps, many of which work on non-iDEN phones.
i got the pokemon gold game on my i856 from getjar. its by meboy now yesterday i started a game n saved it. now today when i went to play it i couldnt load my game. it said new game. there was nothing there that said load game. my question is does meboy not allow you to load saved data or is it just iden phones? lol
There have been lots of reports by users that saving games doesn't work in Meboy games.
One user left a comment on the Dragon Warrior (Meboy) post that although the in-game save doesn't work, the Save State and Load State options in the menu do.
when i press menu it dosen't give me that option to load state. can you test it out on your phone and let me know if you get a load state?
is there a way to get digital chocolate or gamloft games on iden phones?
Only if you have a link to the jad or jar.
do you know any of there games that work on iden phones? if so what is the website?
I don't touch commercial games but I suspect that some of them would work. Don't know the website either. Can't you find it with Google?
whats commercial games? not really all the sites i choose the games are vm loading class error when i put them on my phone
By commercial I mean games that are not supposed to be free.
VM Class Loading errors are usually caused by two things:
1) The game or app is not compatible with your phone. There's nothing to you can do about that.
2) There is not enough free storage space on the phone to install. To find out if that is the case:
Find the new app in the Java Apps menu.
If the error occurs during the "Allocating Flash" or "Writing Flash" install phase, it means you don't have enough free space on the phone. Delete one or more other apps or games and restart the install on the phone. To delete an app, select it in the menu, press the "Menu" key and choose "Deinstall".
okay i understand with you mean by both thanks
I checked out Gravatar. It sound's awesome, but after looking over the site and the term's of service/agreement, I am either legally confused or dumb.
Is it a free service-signing up, uploading the avatar, etc?
Gravatar is part of WordPress. It's free. I've been using it for years with no problems or charges.
i try to upload holy wars with the universal uploader. had no luck so is there anotha way to to do it? or am i sol? lol
You could use iDenJAN with a PC and cable but if it doesn't work with the loader thats not likely to work either. What error do you get with the loader?
904 i believe after it was sent
If you can give me the URL or the name of the site you found it on I'll see if I can do anything about that error.
http://www.mobilerated.com/holywars-3421.html
Thanks, I'll take a look at it later today.
I was able to get rid of the 904 error by fixing a missing required element in Mobilerated's jad file. The game installs and starts up on my i776 but doesn't really work.
Most of the time I get the error "Couldn't locate game for this id." Sometimes I get past that and the game starts but the key mappings are badly messed up and the game freezes up after the first few screens.
If you want to try it yourself go to http://boostapps.com/holywars.htm to download.
i tryed it and its really bad key mappings like you said buts thanks any way
i have been trynna upload videos from the youtube downloader lately n i cant for some reason. when i do to my (i856) n insert my mirco sd card my phone resets n then does it over n over again. do u know of a way to solve this problem? i dnt know if u use the youtube downloader or not but i thought maybe u might know since u deal with lots of quwstions about youtube
It sounds like your SD card might be corrupted. Copy everything off of it to your PC, reformat it in the phone and then copy everything back to it.
i did that but it resets my phone whenever i convert a video to be played on it. but thanks anyway i'll try another youtube downloader rather than this one
are you not posting things anymore on here?
For those of you using a CDMA-X series phone (Rambler, Bali, Juno, Mirror, W395), are yo able to watch videos or download songs using bolt?
I'm thinking of getting the Samsung Seek and just want to be sure of what CDMA-X phones are capable of.
I know its not possible to watch videos and hear music via most iDen phones, but is there a way to update or download a new flash player or reader on an i465?
No, the i465 doesn't support Flash and Adobe doesn't make a flash player for iden
That IM+Email app is junk. I've given up on it. But you shound be able to get out of it by pressing the red key and then End and then End mow. If that doesn't work turn the phone off or as a last resort pull the battery.
Please discuss Bolt on the Bolt post not here. For Bolt try using Jiesen's recommended settings (they are in the Bolt post). If that doesn't help use Bolt Lite or Opera Mini.
I renamed the zip file and it seems to be working again. Please retry.
silly question but i have the i465 clutch and i've downloaded some apps but can't find where they are on my phone to use them. i've downloaded a couple apps successfully but i dont know where the apps and games folder is located on this phone... any step by step instructions on how to locate the apps after i'v downloaded them would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
If you downloaded and installed the apps press the Menu key and choose "Games and Apps" or "Java Apps" and they should be there
If you downloaded the apps from BoostApps you should have landed on this page: http://boostapps.com/success/ which has step by step instructions (with pictures) on how to finish the download and installation process and find the apps on the phone.
where is 1.62?
I overwrote the links in the post with 1.63. The files are here:
http://boostapps.com/files/tibiame162.jad
http://boostapps.com/files/tibiame162.jar
http://boostapps.com/files/tibiame162.zip
If have a PC you can send the zip to your iDEN phone with the iDEN Content Uploader or click the jad link in the browser of your non-iDEN phone.
I'll put up a new post tomorrow 1.62 "Send To Phone" functionality.
okay the 1.63 version does not work on my i856. the 1.62 and 1.60 run but when i try to start game i never get pass the connecting screen
i never downloaded that one. do u.think i should then send 1.63 to my phone n update it?
You could try but I doubt that it would help.
what does unhandled exception mean? i got this error while trying to run the new TibiaME 1.63
That indicates a bug in the app or an incompatibility with the phone. Was 1.62 OK?
I DOWNLOADED THE Iradio APP ONTO MY MOTOROLA I9 PHONE, COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK ! THE STATIONS WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD, CAN U TELL ME WHY ?
when i put videos on my phone(i856) i get media file not recongnized what did i do worng? is they're a way to fix it?
Got a question for you. Do you need or want any help testing the apps on other phones besides the ones you keep using? I am a Boost Mobile Authorized dealer and I have access to all the current (and some older) phones for Boost Mobile, including some Nextel phones. I figure if I can do this for you it may help people who are having issues installing and running the programs on their phone..
Thanks for your offer to help, Jim. I welcome your assistance. The hardest part for me is finding new content to post. Please let me know of any freely distributed apps and games that you have found that work well on any Motorola iDEN phone.
As for testing on multiple phones, it's very tedious work but if you feel up to it, great. I think good candidates for testing across multiple devices would be Bolt (full version), the various Opera Mini versions and Life In Pocket as they are consistently the most popular downloads.
sometimes when i use opera mini 4.2 to visit his site and download games or apps i have trouble sending them to my phone. i enter my 10 digit number an i some how manage to get the error screen. y wont it just send it to the phone like the desktop version do?
The mobile and desktop sites use exactly the same logic and code for sending apps so I don't know why it's happening. One thing is that Opera Mini and Bolt sometimes have trouble posting forms correctly. You just have to keep trying until it works. The Openwave browser is awfully slow but AFAIK form posting is reliable with it
I downloaded life in pocket but and i sign up i enterd the carrier (boost) and i have a i465 also entered phne# and made passcode and hit next and it says account create dbut whn i type in life in pocket.com it jzt goes to thr guest what is i suposed 2o do?
i have done that. and even when there is a sound it will not let me hear it
The only other thing I can think of is that your speaker might be turned off, Go to Profiles, select your current profile then View > Edit > Volume > Speaker
hey dennis i have a i290 and whenevr someone sends me a ringtone or sound i cant hear it and my volume is up and everything. is there something i can download or get so i will be able 2 hear what i get sent
Open the message, press the Menu key and choose "Play Slideshow".
Your downloaded it from Boost right? You need to call boost for support, I don't have anyway of fixing their bad downloads.
i heard of i1 users doing so but they say its pretty choppy but bearable i just want to know if its true or not. thanks
If you mean video it shouldn't be choppy on a good WiFi connection. I have an older MyTouch 3G Android phone which has the same processor as the i1 and video is great on my home WiFi.
dennis i have a question about the i1 again. can you download apps over the air like with a cdma phone? if so does that mean you can download apps from getjar and sites like it? also is it true you can watch videos on it without a wifi connection?
The main source of apps for Android phones like the i9 is the Android Market which is like the iPhone App Store and is preinstalled on the phone. There are over 50,000 apps in the Market, and most of them are free. Downloading and installing is done over the air. GetJar has some android apps.
