Weirdly named, but challenging platform game with good graphics. There are no key mapping problems on either my i776 or Rambler.

The object of the game is to collect all the energy without getting zapped.

This is an ad-free, full version game but you have to go through a rather annoying unlock procedure. When you first play the game you are given a unique numeric code. Go to the activation site at http://www.xtremegamex.com with a PC or mobile browser and enter the code. You will be given another code which you have to key into the game's activation screen. If you have problems with the code check for confusion between the numbers one and seven. The font used in the game makes them look similar but the seven has an extra slash through it. You only have to unlock the game once, it stays unlocked until you uninstall it.

Keys: 4, 6, left, right = move; 2, up = jump; 8, down = down, 5, OK = use transport; down + left = left jump; down + right = right jump; down + up = long jump.

Download the new version of the Facebook mobile Java app. Includes photo tag viewing and liking comments and photos.

Here's the latest version of the Facebook app. The version number is 2.5.1. According to Facebook, the new features in this release are:

Support for more languages including Thai, Arabic, Vietnamese, Devanagari and Hebrew.

Photo tags are now displayed

Added ability to "Like" comments and photos

Photo uploading supported on more phones including the Samsung Seek

I'm not sure which Boost phones it works on. On my Rambler and i776 it installs and runs but most of the keys don't work and as a result there's no way to get past the login screen. The previous 2.3 version didn't work on my phones either but BoostApps readers reported that it worked on the Incognito, Juno, Factor, Rant and Seek, so I'm hoping this one works on at least those phones.

Type: Freeware
Vendor: Facebook
Data Connection Required: Yes
Minimum Java ME profile: MIDP 2.0
Screen Size: All
Boost CDMA Compatible: (tested on Motorola Rambler) No but probably works on the Incognito, Juno, Factor, Rant and Seek
iDEN Compatible: (tested on i776): No, runs but key mapping issues make it unusable
Let us know in a comment if it works or not on your Boost phone

Free casino Baccarat mobile Java game for Boost Mobile and other phones.

A well designed mobile version of the classic casino card game Baccarat. It's a game between two hands of three cards each called the "Player" and the "Banker". This is the modern casino "Punto Banco" version of Baccarat where you can bet on either the Player, the Banker or for a Tie.

In Baccarat the Ace, Jack, King and Queen have no value, only the number cards count. Each hand's score is the rightmost digit of the sum of the cards in the hand. So 2, 3, 4 is worth 9, but 6, 7, 8 is only worth 1 because 6 + 7 +8 = 21 and the rightmost digit of 21 is a one.

This is a free "play for fun" game that was created as a promotion for several online mobile casinos. There are links to the casinos in the "More fun" menu. If you value your wallet stick with playing for fun!

Keys: 1, 2, 3 to bet on Player, Tie or Banker; Left softkey = Bet or Deal; Right softkey = Menu

Type: Ad-supported
Vendor: Spin3
Data Connection Required: no
Minimum Java ME profile: MIDP 2.0
Screen Size: 176x20
Supported Boost Phones: All with 176 x 220 px or larger screens (Bali, i475, i856, Rambler, Rant, etc.)

The app "SL Baccarat" (143 KB) is ready to download or send to your phone as filename: "Baccarat".

Latest 2.05 version of the multi-player online role playing game Tibia ME - free download for Java phones.

TibaME was updated to version 2.0.5 several months ago. I thought the small version number bump implied a minor change, but I guess I was wrong. A post on the Tibia Forum lists the following not so minor changes:

The islands Ashmor and Vargos got a new paint and the graphics were revamped. While traveling on the islands you will come across lots of new quests to be solved.

Asmor revamped! Also, we have added new monsters to Ashmor. You will now face nasty Liches, evil Acolytes and deathly Cult Tutors.

Besides that, we reworked the Hornig Quest. Just visit the new NPC Roy who is the successor of the former NPC Ray and give him your Demonic Artefact. By doing that you will receive a unique item; a new weapon depending on your vocation.

Vargos revamped! In addition, the difficulty of Vargos was raised from level 40 to level 48. Therefore, you have to be at least level 48 to get access to Vargos.

New boss monster fights were added as well. You can now fight a Cylcop, an Eye and a Dragon. You can face all those bosses on Vargos on a daily basis, including Hieronymus. And a new reward will be given if you finish the Hieronymus quest. In addition new monsters were added to Vargos.

Interface innovations! We have also improved the skill and spell descriptions. If you now look at a spell book or at the spell details in the shop, more information will be displayed: for example, the type of spell, the amount of damage, etc.

From now on, a look at one of your skills will show your current amount of skill points.

Now, you will be able to check when your next ReRolls will be added. The ReRoll menue in the Attributes and Skill dialogue will be accessable for you all the time even if you have no ReRolls left.

New graphics! A new graphical effect will be shown if you fail to cast a spell.

And last but not least, a new startscreen was added.

On my Motorola i776, Tibia takes a long time to update after you log in but runs pretty well after that. On the Motorola Rambler, the update takes just as long and then seems to lock up. I think it's a key mapping issue. I tried both the classic Java version and the Motorola one and they both had the same problem. I've posted the classic non-Motorola version as that's what the Tibia site's download wizard recomends for both the iDEN Motorola's, the Motorola WX400 Rambler and other Boost phones like the Sanyo SCP-6760 Incognito.

Keys (iDEN): the OK key is miss -mapped and soft keys don't work. Use the Call key as the left soft key (OK, Yes, Menu); Use the OK key as the right soft key (No, Exit).

Type: Freeware with optional paid upgrades.
Data Connection Required: Yes
Minimum Java ME profile: MIDP 2.0
Screen Size: all
Boost CDMA Compatible: (tested on Motorola Rambler): No (loads and runs but unplayable due to key mapping issues)
Boost iDEN Compatible: (tested on i776): Yes

Uploading photos to Facebook is broken on many Boost phones. Discuss workarounds here.

For as long as I can remember Boost Mobile users have been complaining of problems uploading photos to Facebook. Actually, for many users it flat out doesn't work.

Update: Thanks to tips from BoostApps readers we now have solutions for uploading photos to Facebook from iDEN phones plus the Mirro, Rambler, Incognito, Innuendo, Seek and possibly other CDMA phones. Here's how:

For the Mirro and Rambler (tip by Shawn Grambo, aka shawn1g614 )

Go to m.facebook.com with the phone browser.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Photos.

On the Photos page click Upload Photos, then click the Browse button.

Click the My Pictures folder and choose the photo you want to upload. Hover over the filename to see a thumbnail.

Enter a caption and click the Upload button.

Uploading is slow. It takes about a minute on the Rambler.

The Rambler browser has trouble keeping me logged into Facebook. Sometimes I get logged out while uploading and have to start over.

For Boost Motorola iDEN phones (i465, i475, i856, etc.)

Find your unique personal Facebook photo upload addess by clicking "Upload Photos" from yourFacebook Mobile homepage.

Send an MMS (a "picture message") to your Facebook photo upload email address

For the Incognito, Innuendo and Mirro (tip by KrazyKev and Shawn Grambo)

Install the latest version of Opera Mini from here.

Run Opera Mini

Go to m.facebook.com with Opera Mini.

Click Photos at the top of the Facebook page

On the Photos page click Upload Photos, then click the Browse (or Search) button.

Browse to the photo you want to upload (On the Innuendo you may need to copy the photos to the memory card and upload them from there)

Enter a caption and click the Upload button.

For the Seek (tip by Angela Simmons)

Download the Facebook App from the Facebook mobile site using the Seek's browser (if you can't find it on Facebook or their version doesn't install get it from here.).

Go to your main screen on phone. Go into your Applications. Click Facebook. Follow everything until main screen.

Click on photos and take pics and upload.

If your phone's not listed try all three methods and let everyone know if it works for you and with what phone.

The original version of this post from Ap. 25, 2011, titled, "Editorial: Facebook Photo Uploading Needs To Be Fixed Now", is reprinted below:

According to Facebook, users can upload photos by sending an MMS (a "picture message") to a special email address. Every Facebook user has a different address, you can see yours by clicking "Upload Photos" from the Facebook Mobile homepage or by going to facebook.com/mobile with a PC browser. I've used the email technique with a Boost iDEN Motorola i776 and it does work. Not so with the Boost CDMA Motorola Ramber. Every time I try to send a picture message to my Facebook email with the Rambler instead of a picture, this is what shows up in my Facebook status:

You have received a Multimedia Message - You received a Media Mail from {TRIMMED_SENDER} Click to view. http://mediamail.boostmobile.com/share.do?invite=XEOrJBm1Yk7pqhOhzUeQ

That's all, no picture, just a link. Clicking the link does take you to the picture but that's not a satisfactory solution. Facebook users expect the actual picture they uploaded to appear in their status or album on Facebook, not a link.

Boost Mobile has a Facebook fan page which is updated frequently. They also have a Facebook discussion board. Often a user will complain about the Facebook picture uploading problem on the Boost's Facebook Wall or on the dDiscussion board. The official Boost Mobile account will typically respond with something like;

"Please try to send your pictures as an MMS to the Facebook short code 32665, as long as you have your phone registered to your Facebook account this should work."

The only problem is that it doesn't work. There is no error reported and it looks like the message is sent. If you're on the Pay As You Go plan you even get charged 25 cents for sending a picture message. However, the picture never shows up on Facebook. Maybe it worked at one time but it doesn't now. You can send a text message to 32665 and it get's posted as a status message but sending photos to that short code does nothing.

One thing I've heard that does work is using the built-in email app found in some Boost phones. On the Incognito and Rant, the app allows you attach pictures to emails. Several users, both here on BoostApps and on the Boost Facebook discussion forum, have reported that they are able to send photos to Facebook using the Incognito's email app and a Gmail account. However that doesn't help the users of phones like my Rambler whoose enail apps don't support attachments. If you have a Motorola i1, the official Facebook Android app does work for photo uploading as well.

Facebook is the biggest Website in the US and the third largest in the world and is an important part of many Boost Mobile user's lives. Posting photos is a popular activity on Facebook and the fact that is doesn't work with many Boost phones is inexcusable. I don't know if the fault lies with Boost or Facebook, although I suspect it's Boost as photo uploading (using your Facebook personal email addresses, not 32665) seems to work with every every other mobile carrier. Regardless of who is to blame Boost and Facebook need to work together to resolve this issue. The current situation makes Boost look incompetent and I suspect causes more than a few Boost users to switch to a different carrier.

How about you? Can you post photos to Facebook using your Boost phone? If you can leave a comment mentioning which Boost phone you use and how you upload the photos.
