An easy, fun game with a soccer theme that has almost nothing to do with the actual game of soccer.

From the in game instructions: "The aim of the game is to help the soccer player David to pick up golden balls in each round.

On his way he has to keep away from white soccer balls. He can also find bonus balls which are marked with an question mark. These, on the one hand, can help David, but on the other hand can make his task more difficult. Bonuses can make the enemies slower and make David faster, color current balls (so that David can pick them up) or make them invisible.

In each round the game difficulty is higher as the number of golden balls David has to pick up increases and there appear obstacles on the playground.

Keys: For moving David use 4 (left), 6 (right), 2 (up), 8 (down). Keys 1, 3, 7, 9 as well as the combination of the keys 4, 2, 6, 8 serve for sloping movement."

On iDEN phones use the Call or 5 key as OK. Use the right soft key as the left soft key and the menu key as the right soft key.

On the Motorola Rambler and possibly other CDMA phones, use  the right soft key as the left soft key.  There is no key mapped to the right soft key which is used to continue when you lose the game. If you lose you can't continue. If this happens to you, press the End Call key to exit the game and start over.

Other than slightly messed up key mappings this game plays well on both my test phones.

On the Rambler and probably other CDMA phones use the "5" key to start the game after selecting a player. On QWERTY phones you need to lock the keyboard in number mode by pressing the Fn key twice in order for the number keys to work.  Once the game begins OK and arrow keys work normally.

On iDEN phones the arrow keys and OK button don't work. Use 4, 6 to select a player and 5 or Call as the OK key/Fire button. On QWERTY phones you need to lock the keyboard in number mode with a long press on the Fn key in order for the number keys to work.

For Liz, who asked for a Pool game that would work on an i776, here's Simple Pool.  It's not perfect, but it's the best of the five pool games I was able find.  The main problem is that the bottom of the table is a  little cut of making it hard to sink balls in the bottom pockets.  Also, there's no opponent, you just try to pocket all the balls without scratching.

Rules:
Pocket all colored balls while trying not to pocket the white cue ball.
You lose one credit when
1) The white ball is pocketed;
2) No ball has been pocketed for three turns;
3) The white ball has not touched any other ball during the turn.
When three credits are lost, the game is over.
To shoot:
1) Use the direction keys to place the pointer (white triangle) where you want the white ball to go.
2) Press and hold for the Call key to specify the impact value.

This is a fast moving soccer game with many controls to remember. According to the in-game help:

• For a throw-in, kick or goal, choose the target with 4 and 6 and then press 5 for the action.
• For a penalty kick, press Call or 5 when the targeting point is on the goal. The further the goal keeper is from the goal, the better your chance of scoring
• To defend a penalty kick you have to press the direction key (4 or 6) as soon after the kick as possible.
• When a player is doing a slide-in, passing, kicking or running with the ball, his strength goes down, increasing his chances of injury.  The player regains his strength when not holding the ball.
• Pressing # during a match lets you change a teams formation at the next break (throw in , corner, etc.)
• Heavily injured players and ones who have received a red card cannot return to the pitch and their team has to play a man down until the end of the match.

Designed for 240x320 px screens (i9) the came is playable on 176x220 px screens like the i856 but practically unplayable on anything smaller.

No it's not an American football game. Football is what the rest of the world calls soccer.  The World Cup is on so I figured it was time for soccer game.  This is a good action game that adapts to all screen sizes.  It has more or less realistic gameplay and working sound.
