2 in 1 Mobile Java App. Reversi and the African strategy board game Oware

Two games in one: Reversi (rules) and an African strategy board game called Oware (rules). There's also a menu option for minesweeper but it doesn't seem to work.

In the Oware game, the lower player moves first. The player at the lower has blue. The upper player has red. The possible moves are indicated with a small dot inside the squares that are valid moves. If an invalid square is chosen as a move, nothing happens.

On the iDEN phones the OK key is mapped incorrectly and goes back to the menu, hit "Continue" to return to the game if you press it by accident. Use the green Call key as the OK key.

A very nice chess app that works with all screen sizes. Unlike Cellufun Chess board isn't cut off at the bottom on smaller screens. It has three levels, handicaps, retract (undo) move, optional background usic and you can play against the computer or with a friend (offline, sharing the phone)

It takes a while to start on the i776, i465 and similar iDEN phones but once it's running gameplay is quick. Startup on the Rambler only takes a few seconds.

The app "MobileChess" (328 KB) is ready to download or send to your phone as filename:"MobileChess".

There is supposed to be an online mode where you can play against other people but I get a server error when I try to use it. Offline mode works fine.

Although the author calls this game "Chinese Checkers Puzzle" it's actually Peg Solitare, sometimes called Chinese Solitaire. The game is quite challenging, works well and adapts to all screen sizes. The only flaw is that the in-game help displays as a bunch of squares rather than text, I suspect it's in Russian. That's not much of a problem as the rules of Peg Solitare are simple.

Pegs can only move horizontally or vertically and each move must jump over another peg. The peg that was jumped over is removed.

The object of the game is to remove all the pegs or marbles from the board except one.

Keys: Arrows move cursor or peg; Call key selects a peg to move.

For the reader who requested a Go game, here's TinyGo.

It allows you to play and review Go board game files in Smart Game Format (SGF) and has four modes: play, review, score and problem solving.

I'm not a Go player but Tiny Go seems playable on my i776. The only problem I noticed is that once you start a game there's no way to get back to the main menu to change modes or save the game.

One or two player space themed strategy board game similar to Battleship. Adapts to all screen sizes and has a game save feature. The game claims to be ad supported but I haven't seen any ads.

Regular ships (blue balls or purple squares) can move any number of squares in one direction (horizontally or vertically) each turn. The Flagship (hollow blue circle) moves one square per turn.

Enemy ships are destroyed by surrounding them with two or more of your own ships. The flagship is destroyed when it's completely surrounded.

Blue wins if the Flagship reaches a warp point (green square) or all the purple ships are destroyed. Purple wins when the Flagship is destroyed.

Gomoku or Five In A Row (Caro in Vietnamese) is a board game that is popular throughout Asia. The rules are simple but the strategy is not. Players take turns placing chips on the board. The first player to get five chips in a row; horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins. JCaro is Gomoku adapted for mobile phones. It's only 6 kb in size but the computer opponent is very hard to beat, There's a choice of game board sizes. The game loads quickly and runs well even on basic phones.
